Once again, we had a great year at WACTA. We have had some exciting activities over last year and get to catch up with friends on the tennis courts. This year, our annual banquet will be held at New Fortune Restaurant on March 3, 2012. It will give us all a chance to mingle outside the tennis courts as well.

The banquet will start at 6:30 PM. In addition to the delicious food and annual election, we will provide entertainment programs at the banquet. If you or your group wishes to participate in the entertainment program at the banquet, please contact us ASAP at president@wacta.org and secretary@wacta.org.
The cost for attending the banquet is $20 per person. Please reserve your seat early. We strongly recommend that you reserve a table as a group to help us streamline the seating and checking in process.

Rho-Psi Foundation awards scholarship to advanced Chinese youth tennis players, in the Great Washington Area, who demonstrate outstanding competition results in playing in school teams as well as USTA sponsored tournaments.

For 2012, four advanced players (two boys and two girls) will be selected by a special committee from WACTA for scholarship. The first girl and boy selected will receive $600 and the second boy and girl will receive $400. We encourage all Chinese players who are still in school (high, middle, or elementary schools). Special consideration will be given to the members of WACTA.

In addition, Rho-Psi Foundation offers ProPrep awards for promising tennis players who are national ranking and have been chosen to a national training program this year. The applicants have to demonstrate the capability and desire to become professional players. The winner will receive $2,000 scholarship.

WACTA 2011-2012 Team Tennis Series (TTS) will be held at the Four Seasons Tennis Club on the following dates: Oct 1, Nov 12, Dec 10, Jan 28, and Feb 25 (final). This event will accept 8 teams. Each team competes in 5 doubles matches in each tournament. Each doubles pair will play against 3 other pairs in a round-robin format for 2.5 hour court time (12 games per match) in each tournament. The 5 pairs of doubles are: 1) Women, 2) Mixed, 3) Men, 4) Open-I, and 5) Open-II (See bellows link for RULES for details). This is a WACTA members-only event.

This event is a social-competition series event similar to the other popular WACAT ladder tournaments. The registration fee is just $20 per player per indoor tournaments. It includes tennis matches, dinner boxes, souvenirs and awards. If you enjoy social and competition tennis, come and join this event.
